A PIN code protects the Kid's app from removal and prevents children from accessing the device's settings. Follow the instructions below to learn how to set a PIN code on the app. It is an important security feature, and it's strongly recommended that parents take steps to maximize their children's security.
PIN Code Setup
If you try to open settings on the child's app, you will see that a PIN code is required to access the settings. You don't have your PIN code set primarily, so you have to set it on the parent app.
Entering the "Parent Mode" on the Safes Kids app will allow you to see the permissions. You can also uninstall the app from the kid's device using the parent mode as well.
To set a PIN code on the parent app, please follow the steps below:
Navigate to "Security" in the Parent App. Access the security setting, and look at the menu. You will set a little red note indicating that the PIN code is not set yet. Tap on the PIN code option.
Upon opening the new page, you will be required to input your PIN code. Remember, this code is private and you should NOT share the code with the child.
The use case is when the child wants to delete the app from their phone (but they can't because they are required to provide the PIN code). Also, when they want to make changes to the Safes Kids app, they have to provide the PIN code
Resetting a PIN Code
If you forget the PIN code, you can reset it by going through the security settings on the parent app. Shortly after your request to reset your password, the instructions will be sent to the email address you provided at the sign-up.
