App Monitoring 101
App Monitoring is a feature on Safes that allows parents and legal guardians to both monitor and manage children’s social interactions. “What do you mean by monitor and manage?” you may ask. To answer this question, we will explain the monitoring and managing aspect of each supported social media platform separately, starting with YouTube.
Monitor YouTube Activity
Using Safes’ App Monitoring, you get to monitor and be notified of three things:
Your child searching for something (potentially) inappropriate on YouTube
Your kid starting to watch an unsuitable video on YouTube
Your little one leaving a comment with bad words and language on a YouTube video
Manage YouTube Activity
Safes’ App Monitoring allows you to protect your child from exposure to mature content on YouTube by blocking the content altogether. This will occur in various scenarios:
If your child searches for something inappropriate on the YouTube app’s search bar
If your little one opens a link to a video with adult content
If your kid opens an unsuitable YouTube video that appears on the YouTube app’s home page or any other in-app section.
Note: App Monitoring on YouTube cannot do the following for you:
Monitor and Manage YouTube on Browsers
Report the Entire YouTube Watch History
Monitor and Manage YouTube Shorts
Prevent Kids from Posting Inappropriate Comments
Monitor Phone Calls
Using Safes’ App Monitoring, you get to monitor and be notified of several things:
Incoming, outgoing, and missed calls, including exact phone numbers
The exact date and time calls happen
How long calls last
Manage Phone Calls
Suppose you decide your child shouldn’t be in contact with someone through phone calls. In that case, App Monitoring allows you to block that specific phone number on your child’s device.
Note: App Monitoring cannot record your child’s conversation with other people and send it to you.
Monitor Text Messages (SMS)
Using Safes’ App Monitoring, you can supervise your child’s text messages in two different scenarios:
If your child sends a text message that includes bad, inappropriate words and language
If your kid receives a text message that includes bad, inappropriate words and language
Note: App Monitoring on SMS cannot do the following for you:
Prevent your child from sending text messages with bad or inappropriate words and language
Delete or hide text messages sent to your child with bad or inappropriate words and language
Prevent your kid from sending messages to a specific contact/phone number
Block a particular contact so your kid won’t receive text messages from them
